Spanish Immigration Paralegal/Legal Assistant Duties: Manage a large caseload consisting of both removal (deportation) defense and affirmative, family-based immigration applications. Will be responsible for communicating with clients and working closely with them on preparing their cases, including gathering documents and drafting declarations. Will also correspond with government agencies, immigration court, medical providers, schools, social workers, and mental health professionals to obtain necessary evidence and advocate for clients. S/he will primarily work under the supervision of an attorney. Will answer phones, schedule appointments, maintain calendar, and speak with the Court or USCIS. Will do intakes with clients, and meet with the clients. Make photocopies, send faxes, Scans, retrieve and/or return files, other duties as assigned and any other related tasks as requested by the supervisor Attorney. We will give preference to applicants who have prior experience working in an immigration law firm. QUALIFICATIONS: Must be fluent in English and Spanish (must), with strong written and verbal communication skills in both. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required. A successful applicant will be a fast learner and hard worker.-Possess excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple assignments with minimal supervision. Work well under deadlines, handle confidential information with professionalism, and display strong interpersonal skills. Need to consistently update databases and utilize case management tools effectively and efficiently to monitor cases and track deadlines and expiration dates.
