Personal Injury Paralegal The candidate will be responsible for assisting with cases to ensure the efficient and timely processing of the different stages of pre-litigation. Following duties are to performed: Drafting letters and correspondence; FOIA Requests; Obtaining and organizing documentation required at different stages of the case; Coordinating Investigator to obtain photos of scene and witnesses statements when needed; Processing PIP/Medpay; Obtaining prior injury/medical and claims/lawsuits history; Reviewing all medical records; Maintaining regular contact with clients; Notice letter to Medicare/Medicaid and lienholders; Developing harms and losses with clients; Drafting and sending out demand package; Monitoring receipt and processing of demand; Preparing closing statements; Checking account balances; Processing disbursement; Performs other essential functions necessary for the success of the department. The candidate must have minimum of 2 to 3 years of personal injury paralegal experience. A Bachelor's degree is highly preferred. Litigation experience is a big plus. Ability to manage multiple tasks, delivers results, and maintains quality while working under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment are needed. Ability to work effectively in collaboration with others is essential. Proficiency and experience with broad range of computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required. Experience with litigation matters in the DMV area. Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and customer-service skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, and case management software. Excellent analytical abilities. Proven ability to handle a large case load, prioritize, execute tasks, multitask and meet critical deadlines. Good organizational, time management and problem-solving skills. Ability to work well independently but more importantly as part of a team. Ability to exercise flexibility, initiative, good judgment and discretion.
