Senior Paralegal - Commercial Real Estate The candidate will assist in drafting real estate documents, preparing closing documents, conducting due diligence reviews and coordinating closings as required for commercial real estate transactions. Will work on ordering, reviewing and analyzing title commitments, recorded documents and surveys. Develop, monitor and update closing, and other checklists, for real estate transactions. Assist with drafting documents for commercial, resort and mixed use developments, as well as draft lease amendments for attorney review. Reporting and research will be delivered to the appropriate parties , counsel, lenders, governmental agencies, vendors, etc. hould have College degree and/or Paralegal certificate . Must have 8+ years experience supporting a Commercial Real Estate practice group in a law firm environment. Mortgage finance experience representing lender is essential. Title and survey experience is essential. Electronic data room experience is essential. Strong proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook is essential. Excellent communication and interpersonal skill is essential. Large law firm experience is preferred. Experience with public/private partnerships, mixed use development and resort development is a plus. Commercial Real Estate Paralegal Duties: Draft closing documents, including loan agreements, notes, security deeds and mortgages, estoppel certificates, buy-sell agreements, indemnification agreements, releases, collateral assignment documents, participation agreements, subordination agreements, non-disturbance and attornment agreements, guarantees, leases, financing statements, affidavits, closing memoranda, closing statements, lien waivers, etc.. Order and analyze title examinations, review exceptions to titles, prepare necessary documents to correct or clear title. Order and analyze surveys, prepare and review legal descriptions. Coordinate closing logistics; prepare closing checklists; oversee execution of documents and recordation of appropriate documents; organize complex transactional files. Coordinate post-closing follow-up including recording documents, wiring funds, obtaining necessary cancellation documents, organizing and indexing files and overseeing preparation of closing documents binders. Perform legal research pertaining to multi-state real estate law practice and procedures, proper form execution and acknowledgement of real estate documents for domestic and out of state properties. Prepare and file entity organizational, amendatory, and dissolution/termination documents; prepare and file foreign qualifications and withdrawals. Process and track vendor invoices. Maintain positive relationships with firm attorneys, co-counsel, clients and vendors. Keep accurate time records. Observe confidentiality of client matters. Requirements: Bachelor's degree with a 3.5 GPA. 10 previous years of law firm experience in a commercial real estate practice with substantial experience in title and survey. Ability to work on multiple matters simultaneously and multi-task. . Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat Professional. Positive attitude and strong, concise communication and writing skills. Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete tasks under strict time constraints.. Committed team player as well as a motivated self-starter. Able to work overtime as needed (including weekends and holidays), often without advance notice.
