The firm also has been criticized in many respects for its lack of diversity; however, we do not believe that this is a serious problem because the firm's recent hires have all been very diverse in our opinion. The firm also receives very high scores for the treatment of associates by partners and there does appear to be a very good relationship here between associates and partners with associates feeling they are part of the mix to a great degree and respected by partners. Immigration Paralegal

Title : Immigration Paralegal

Location : Washington - Seattle
Refer to Job # WROJ719913

This high-powered, long-established firm offers great opportunities for top-notch candidates seeking rapid growth and high volume in intellectual property and dozens of other challenging practices. We really have a lot of good things to say about this firm because the firm seems to consistently set a high mark for itself in numerous, numerous categories. For example, the attorneys in this firm are all almost universally very nice people to work with and this firm puts a real powerful emphasis on quality of life issues for both its associates and partners. Without exception, the firm’s attorneys claim they are treated with a tremendous amount of respect – the firm is genuinely interested in making long-term relationships with people. Management is extraordinarily introspective about the candidates they interview – according to one candidate, the firm is “almost philosophical” in its approach towards recruiting. Attorneys here typically bill in the 1800 range.
Immigration Paralegal The candidate drafts appropriate forms and letters for visa applications and petitions, applications for permanent residence, appearances before the USCIS, labor certification applications, and other immigrant and non-immigrant related filings. Gathers appropriate evidence to support the proper filing. Maintains computer databases for case management of immigration filings. Assembles application and petition packages and files with USCIS or other appropriate agency. Monitors immigration-related publications and websites for news and trends and communicates findings to the practice group, keeping important items in electronic files. Conducts research via internet and hard copy sources of information, keeping important items in electronic files. Prepares letters and e-Blasts to inform clients of relevant events in immigration law. Maintains a library of immigration publications and text books. Provides general assistance to department attorneys. Accurately and completely record billable time spent and tasks performed in accordance with firm policy and client-imposed billing protocols; enter and release time promptly in compliance with the firm s announced deadlines. Accurately and promptly submit records of hours worked in compliance with the firm s established deadlines. A College degree or completion of a paralegal program strongly preferred. 3+ years of experience supporting immigration attorneys in US immigration law required. Knowledge of the basic business non-immigrant visas (H-1B, H-2B, L-1A, L-1B, E-1, E-2, TN, B-1) as well as the basic employment-based immigrant visa process (ETA9089, I-140, I-485) is required. Must have knowledge of the following is also desired: EB-5 visa process, the DOL online application systems (PERM and iCert) and Consular processing and DS-160 forms. Should have ability to read and write English. Must have proficiency in the use of Microsoft business applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook). Familiarity with Immigration INS Zoom or other immigration-tracking software highly desirable. Should have highly developed skills in time and task management with the ability to manage multiple priorities and respond to urgent requests with minimal supervision.
