Discovery Attorney - E-Discovery Services and Strategy

Title : Discovery Attorney - E-Discovery Services and Strategy

Location : Washington - Seattle
Refer to Job # QSMD730528

Experience the prestige and challenge of Fortune 500 companies including dot coms, while enjoying the sunny lifestyle of the Southwest at this very busy, larger firm. Well-reputed in intellectual property, civil and securities litigation and corporate transactional practices, it is always striving towards excellence and professionalism in its associates, and actively encourages new associates to delve into responsible roles as soon as possible. Ready to meet the challenge? The associates here are some of the happiest associates in Phoenix and truly seem to enjoy the work that they do. We do not need to tell you that as a very successful Arizona firm the people here do appear to work very hard and we hate to say it but we will: Many are working New York type hours. The firm also has been criticized in many respects for its lack of diversity; however, we do not believe that this is a serious problem because the firm's recent hires have all been very diverse in our opinion. The firm also receives very high scores for the treatment of associates by partners and there does appear to be a very good relationship here between associates and partners with associates feeling they are part of the mix to a great degree and respected by partners. Most associates at this firm would much rather stay with the firm than switch firms. In our book this is a good sign.
Discovery Attorney - E-Discovery Services and Strategy The candidate will be responsible for document review and discovery-related tasks. Will supplement core legal teams with licensed attorneys trained in document review procedures and have expertise in document review platforms and litigation support technologies. Reports to the Discovery Services Supervisor and will also be assigned an E-Discovery Services & Strategy (ESS) Senior Discover Attorney and legal team contact from whom he or she will receive project-specific direction. Perform document review for relevance, responsiveness, privilege and issue coding. Perform quality control of document review work performed by other ESS attorneys and people employed by outside vendors. Identify documents and evidence for use at deposition and trial. Engage the use of relational database technology ( e.g. CaseMap, Magnum) to collect and analyze evidence. Perform initial deposition preparation. Perform case analysis assistance and draft written summaries. Monitor and remain apprised of case law developments in electronic discovery. Monitor advancements in e-discovery and litigation technology systems. Must have strong knowledge of the principles of litigation support software such as Relativity, Concordance, CascMap, and LiveNote. Must have familiarity with the litigation process, including all phases of discovery and trial. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong customer service skills. Fluency in standard MS Office applications and ability to quickly master new litigation software is required. Ability to follow direction is required. Previous document review experience preferred. Foreign language skills and advanced technical skills, including familiarity with artificial intelligence tools such as analytics and predictive coding, are a plus. Must have Juris Doctorate degree and 3 years of related work experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be substituted. Must be licensed to practice law and be in good standing with the state Bar where the firm's Office is located. Legal 3 - 0 Full Time 0000-00-00 00:00:00
