The candidate should preferably have a High school diploma, associates or bachelors degree. Minimum of 4 years litigation secretary experience. Solid understanding of technical legal terminology, court filings, federal and state court/agency rules and procedures is required. Strong ability to write and communicate effectively, tactfully and professionally with attorneys, clients, court personnel and vendors is necessary. Excellent grammar, spelling and punctuation usage is must. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programs. Ability to prioritize and work independently under pressure in a fast-paced environment on a daily basis is required. Must be punctual with excellent attendance. The candidate must have ability to read and write in order to prepare routine office correspondence and forms. Must have 3 years on-the-job experience necessary in order to perform complex administrative duties in a professional services setting. Must have knowledge of County, State and Federal court filing guidelines and District Court e-filing essential. Should have knowledge of legal phrases, terminology, content and format of legal documents. Must have ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints. Should have ability to proofread typed material for grammatical, typographical and spelling errors. Must have ability to type standard memoranda and correspondence from rough draft at a level of 70 words per minute.
