Real Estate Paralegal Responsibilities: Preparation or review of documents for real estate acquisitions and dispositions and real estate loans. Assisting with the drafting of purchase and sale agreement amendments, leases and other transaction documents. Due diligence reviews of property documents and leases. Contract administration and management, including reviewing and analyzing contracts and lease documents. Pre-closing and closing management, including preparing binders. Reviewing title and survey documents. Requirements: Bachelor's Degree preferred. 3 -5 years commercial real estate experience in law firm environment preferred Excellent writing and interpersonal communications skills. Strong project management skills with attention to detail and deadlines. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with a client service focus. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. An understanding of and experience with commercial real estate transactions, either from the acquisition and development side of the transaction or from the finance and lending side of the transaction, also excellent technical and organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to work in a team setting. Paralegal/Legal Assistant Responsibilities: Manage case calendars and data from inception through trial and conduct periodic case reviews with attorneys. Draft discovery requests and responses, deposition notices, subpoenas, affidavits, motions, proposed orders, FOIA requests, and other case documents. Organize, maintain, prepare and summarize document productions. Assist attorneys during trials by managing exhibits, coordinating witnesses appearances, and preparing video/PowerPoint presentations. Contact physicians and hospitals to request medical and billing records, prepare HIPAA compliant medical release authorizations, and negotiate the reduction of clients medical liens with physicians, hospitals and Medicare/Medicaid. Research real estate ownership, including investigations of titles, liens, plats and judgments by using online resources. Investigate and locate assets of individuals and companies by using online resources. Draft letters, emails, and review incoming mail. Schedule depositions, mediations, and meetings with attorneys, clients and experts. Assist with administrative duties and act as courier when necessary. Qualifications: Must be efficient, organized, and able to accomplish tasks independently. Must be a team player willing to assist on any task. Knowledge of Federal and State Rules of Civil Procedure. Should possess strong writing skills, experience with an immigration based forms and document management system, have excellent case management and organizational skills and be able to work independently.
