Contract Paralegal The candidate will provide assistance in a diverse range of legal matters in state, and federal courts. Will allow the right person to work from home, or on a limited basis from our offices in Scottsdale or Flagstaff, and be compensated well for high quality work. While litigation workloads and deadlines are hard to predict, should have the desire and ability to work a flexible schedule ranging from a few hours a week to full time or greater. Provide general litigation support, including research, drafting of indexes, summaries, and spreadsheets. Organize documents and coordinate document productions. Conduct the bates-stamping, redaction, duplication and indexing of documents. Set up and maintain files which are organized chronologically, numerically and/or by subject matter. Work on electronic productions. Under the guidance of an attorney, categorize documents by subject matter, prepare a chronology of facts and create production charts. Conduct various document searches and factual research. Create and maintain internal case documentation, cull relevant information from a variety of resources such as newspapers, magazines, libraries, case documents and trade associations. Review all incoming and outgoing pleadings and correspondence for calendaring and noticing requirements. Prepare for and attend depositions. Under attorney supervision, gather and prepare documents relevant to the deponent, organize exhibits, take notes and handle exhibits during the deposition, and digest transcripts to summarize highlights of a proceeding. Prepare witness and matter materials for case preparation. Organize interview memos, digests and other relevant documents for attorney review and case preparation. Court filings. Work with attorneys in the preparation and filing of all court documents. Organize pleadings, exhibits and appendices. Electronically format and file pleadings. Prepare correspondence, pleadings, spreadsheets, productions and other legal documents. Qualifications: 10+ years of Commercial Litigation experience. Knowledge of rules and procedures used in state, superior and appellate courts, and federal courts. Knowledge of electronic filing procedures for federal and state courts. Strong organizational skills, including the ability to anticipate case needs, prioritize and meet multiple deadlines under pressure. Ability to prepare initial drafts of pleadings, correspondence, etc. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft products, including Word, Excel, and Power Point. Advanced knowledge of Westlaw Next, and Adobe applications. Ability to effectively communicate with all the parties, counsel and agencies involved in the legal process. Paralegal Bankruptcy & Restructuring Candidate will be responsible for assisting bankruptcy lawyers and more senior paralegals with all phases of bankruptcy cases (administrative matters, contested matters, adversary proceedings), including document/information management, factual analysis, discovery, and court filings.
