Litigation Paralegal The candidate will manage e-discovery, redaction, duplicating and indexing documents. Assist with preparation of pleadings and discovery in federal and state court and administrative agency matters and arbitration proceedings. Prepare deposition and record subpoenas according to state and federal regulations; coordinate production of third-party records and summarize some; prepare deposition outlines and summaries. Analyze and review privileged documents. Trial and arbitration preparation; preparation and management of trial exhibits and other trial related assistance. Presentation of case summaries and courses of action to supervising attorneys. Conduct legal research, including but not limited to, Lexis and Pacer research. Cite-checking and shepardizing and assistance with motion preparation. Liaison with courts and litigation vendors, including process servers and couriers. Prepare responses to audit requests. Keep abreast of developments, procedures and rules in the forums where the office practices. Demonstrate basic strategic thinking and initiative with case assignments. Maintain calendars, complete reports and enter time records. Witness interviews and preparation of interview summaries, prepare government agency filings. An Associate Degree required, Bachelor's Degree preferred. Paralegal degree or related certificate, high school diploma or equivalent minimum is required. ABA Paralegal Certificate highly preferred. Should have strong interpersonal skills, detail orientated with exceptional analytical skills. 5 years minimum legal experience is a plus, preferably in employment law. Proficiency in Windows environment including Word, Outlook and Excel is required. Must be proactive with strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Proofreading of all work, including reading documents for content and context. Submission of conflicts requests and preparation and submission of new business intake forms for new clients and/or new matters, including preparation of appropriate accompanying engagement letter. Duplicating documents, books and other papers as needed. Inputting appropriate duplicating billing information and completing duplicating exception reports. Submitting large duplicating jobs to the Duplicating Department. Accurate preparation of duplicating transmittal sheets.
