Bachelors Degree is preferred. 5-10 years of recent experience as a litigation secretary within a law firm is preferred. 65+ wpm typing speed is required. Must be proficient in e-filing with federal and state courts. Familiarity with state and federal rules and procedures are a plus. Must have a solid understanding of technical legal terminology. Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as excellent proofreading skills are required. Proficiency with Office 2013 suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required. Update budgets and submit firm and vendor invoices and drafting instructions to carriers for payment. Work with vendors such as record companies, court reporters and videographers. Provide backup phone coverage as needed. Qualifications: Bachelor degree preferred. 3+ Years experience working as legal assistant/paralegal in civil litigation required (preferably civil defense). Experience with personal injury defense matters preferred. Knowledge of Texas State and Federal Court deadlines. Must be Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) proficient. Experience with eFileTexas and Federal ECFS/PACER court filing process and requirements. Must be able to think analytically, take direction well, and work independently.
