Senior Litigation Paralegal The candidate is responsible for providing paralegal support and assistance to attorneys in the coordination, management, and supervision of all aspects of class action litigation, as well as assisting occasionally with general litigation matters. Maintains professionalism and strict confidentiality in all client and Firm matters. Organize and maintain documentation to large complex case management matters. Advise attorneys of status dates and changes. Coordinate and make recommendations for case staffing. Draft subpoenas and arrange for service of process of same. Coordinate document retrieval under the supervision of the supervising attorneys. Maintain familiarity with key witness files. Assist in the preparation of documents for trial. Assist attorneys with complex caseload research, subject and topic research, and briefing of court cases. Determine and maintain electronic database needs for large case management; monitor databases. Summarize depositions, arbitration transcripts, briefs, etc. Prepare draft responses to pleadings, interrogatories, and requests for admissions for discovery matters. Coordinate the set-up of electronic media for trial purposes. Maintain up-to-date time reports to ensure accurate client billing. The candidate should have Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of progressive work experience in the litigation practice area preferably in a law firm environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Working knowledge of Electronic Case Filing (CM/ECF) procedures is required. Legal research knowledge and ability to use law library are required. Paralegal certificate from an ABA accredited paralegal program is a plus. Must have solid class action experience from discovery phase through actual trial, as well as solid experience handling numerous class action suits at the same time. Must have applicable knowledge of the principles of judicial and administrative processes and filing requirements, and experience working with methods of legal research, court rules and procedures, litigation terminology and documentation, docketing procedures, and bates numbering. Computer proficient with experience and working knowledge of Westlaw and other litigation-related databases and litigation support software (Concordance, Relativity, TextMap), including to, running and monitoring complex electronic document productions, Internet research, due diligence, Excel, Outlook, and MS Word is preferred. Exhibit high degree of initiative with excellent analytical, technical, and critical-thinking skills is requiring an aptitude for detail, precision, and logic in order to analyze and research litigation-related data, process information, conduct legal research, and perform essential duties. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills is essential. Must have excellent knowledge of reading, writing, grammar, spelling, punctuation, proofreading, and formatting in order to interpret source data, prepare litigation documents and forms, proofread material for grammatical, typographical, and spelling errors, and perform file maintenance.
