Draft ordinances, resolutions, contracts and policies. Counsel city leaders on a variety of legal topics. Analyze legal problems, conduct legal research, and factual investigation as needed to perform the tasks undertaken on behalf of clients. Demonstrate knowledge and expertise of the law and legal system. Demonstrate proficiency with a case management system, Adobe and Microsoft Office products and social media tools and the ability to learn new technologies to carry out job functions. Ensure that all client, project, and computer files are maintained in an orderly manner. Maintain the highest ethical standards as a member of the State Bar. Ensure that all appointments and deadlines are calendared and timely executed with sufficient time dedicated for management approval of legal documents. Qualifications: Member of the State Bar of Texas. 3+ years of relevant legal experience. Experience before state, county and federal courts. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work without close supervision and to independently produce error-free documents. Preferences: Demonstrated experience in Municipal Law.
