Manages status of all filed applications and petitions and finalizes documents after attorney review. Utilizes document and data management systems to prepare, monitor, and record all aspects of client casework as per BAL policy. Prepares internal caseload reports for management. Shares process flow with assignees; Identifies problematic cases and discusses strategies and/or solutions with Attorney. Performs research to obtain information such as background on a company or industry, current wages, processing procedures, standard processing times, etc. Initiates contact with government agencies to obtain necessary information; alerts Senior Paralegal and/or attorney regarding potential process delays/problems. Qualifications: Recent graduates & 3rd year law Students encouraged to apply. Comfortable and ability to thrive in an extremely high volume environment. Demonstrates sound judgement. Answers questions and supplies detailed information both in person and on the phone. Assists attorneys with preparation for and during trials, arbitration proceedings, administrative hearings, etc., by preparing key document and issue binders, organizing, assembling, marking and maintaining documents for exhibits, scheduling witnesses for testimony and performing other, similar tasks. Receives and processes a variety of requests for information, registrations, actions, forms, orders, notices, and/or other related information. Follows through on client needs through coordination of services. Assists with engagement and consultation with expert witnesses. Performs a variety of clerical activities and other duties as assigned. The candidate should have Associates degree in a related field (such as legal assisting, law enforcement, or human services). Must have 7+ years of related experience in New York and New Jersey State Courts. Experience in any one or more of the following state courts is a plus: Pennsylvania, Florida, and Connecticut. Strong background in analyzing and summarizing medical records is essential. Must have interpersonal skills necessary to develop and maintain effective and appropriate working relationships with clients, co-workers, and representatives of other agencies. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to effectively communicate over the phone.
