Litigation Paralegal Duties: Process incoming cases and complete tasks as requested by supervising attorney or attorneys. Communicate and correspond on a regular basis with clients, insurance adjusters, attorneys, courts, medical providers and others as needed. Request and update medical records and/or bills. Organize and file pleadings and case documents appropriately Prepare case/records summaries Prepare (draft), edit and file court pleadings, via us mail and/or electronically Provide medical records to experts Coordinate scheduling with experts; e.g. trial dates, timing of reviews, due dates for RQE/CUE, etc. Calendar Scheduling Order deadlines. Facilitate serving of defendants. Prepare files for depositions and mediation. Calendar Statute of Limitation dates. Prepare all settlement sheets and reconciliation documents Deposit and disburse settlement funds Case end; e.g. send letter to defense counsel to file Dismissal Request checks and process deposits (expert fees, deposition costs, court fees, records costs, etc.). Verify outstanding liens. Filing. Prepare file for closing. Attend mandatory staff meetings. Any other tasks that may arise out of and in the course of employment. Requirements: Knowledge of firm products, services, policies and procedures. Knowledge of MS Office applications. Skill in completing multiple tasks at once. Skill in professional oral and written communication. Ability to type 50 wpm. Ability to operate office and technological equipment and software. Ability to work independently and under a tight schedule with minimal supervision. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
