Bankruptcy Paralegal The candidate will assist attorneys to research and follow local court rules. Manage hard copy and electronic case documents. Draft, issue and manage discovery, including organizing, bates stamping and maintaining voluminous document productions. Assist attorneys with motions, hearings and depositions. Cite-check, blue book and Sherardize briefs and legal memoranda. Draft routine court filings with minimal attorney supervision, including motions for relief, bankruptcy proofs of claim, subpoenas, summonses, writs of garnishment, notices of appearance, and pro hac vice admissions. Draft forbearance agreements and other basic loan documents using pre-approved templates. Review and summarize loan documents. Assist attorneys with closing transactions. Order and review public records searches, including title work, UCC and lien searches, and corporate filings. Assist attorneys with foreclosures, including preparing notices and publications. Perform administrative duties, such as calendaring hearings, court and discovery deadlines. Perform basic legal research on Westlaw and Lexis. Perform all other duties as assigned. Bachelor's degree with ABA paralegal certification or Associates/Bachelor's degree in Paralegal studies is preferred. Should have 5+ years of paralegal experience within a law firm.
