Patent Prosecution Paralegal Candidate must have: College degree, plus 3 years of recent legal experience required. 3+ years of patent prosecution paralegal experience, excellent organizational abilities, communication skills, attention to detail, and a desire and ability to take ownership over work assignments and work product. Knowledge of US Patent including priority application filing, continuation/division application filing, response to office action filing, appeal and answer filing, re-examination and reissue filings. Knowledge/understanding of how to prepare patent documents for filing, including but not limited to Declarations, Assignments, Powers of Attorney, Responses to Notice to File Missing Parts, Amendments/Responses, IDSs, Requests for Certified Copies, Appeal Briefs, PCT applications, etc. Maintain US payment of maintenance fees. Knowledge of PCT procedure including PCT filing, national entries. Maintain application files, dockets and prepare periodic status reports. Knowledge and compliance of client procedures. Ability to communicate with client/inventors, PTO, PCT office, foreign associates, annuity services. Knowledge/understanding of USPTO s PAIR and e-filing systems, and client systems. Knowledge/understanding of a patent management database, which includes tasks such as creating & maintaining docket dates, periodic database review, creating & maintaining patent records. Ability to assist with misc. projects, such as due diligence.
