Disability Paralegal/Case Manager Duties: Will be the primary contact of an assigned roster of clients who seek assistance during a desperate time of need. Will have substantial interaction with clients, prospective clients, doctor s offices, and insurance companies. Will foster a strong relationship of trust, respect, and reliance with our clients while acting as the face of our firm. Will include: (1) customer service of an assigned roster of clients: (2) preparation of disability application forms; (3) preparation of client, doctor, employer and family affidavits and other written statements; (4) preparation of correspondence and other written materials; (5) review of medical records, employment records, insurance policies; (6) monitoring deadlines and other docket items; and (7) light administrative duties, including scanning and proofreading. Qualifications: An upbeat personality and a genuine interest in helping others. Will need compassion, patience, and the ability to give clear advice. You also need to be a self-starter, have a strong work ethic, and must take pride in a job well done. Superior writing, communication and computer skills are also necessary. Professionalism is a must. Attention to detail is essential. Must be computer literate and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Word. Experience in the following areas is desired but not essential: ERISA disability claims; Social Security Disability claims; Workers Compensation claims; nursing; social work; and medical records.
