Legal Secretary - Employment and Business Litigation Law The candidate will handle responsibilities: Significant client contact in person, by telephone and by e-mail. Intake of new clients, preparing engagement letters and handling retainers. Scheduling consultations, appointments, depositions, etc. Maintaining and updating attorney calendars. Routine telephone calls with clients, opposing counsel, court clerks, court reporters, etc. Opening and scanning mail. Preparing pleadings for court filing and service, including Bates stamping of exhibits. Preparing exhibit binders and hearing/trial binders for attorneys. Knowledge of employment law rules of court and local rules and procedures for filing and lodging documents as well as filing deadlines. Draft client correspondence and various pleadings. Perform administrative support functions, such as scanning documents, e-mailing documents to clients, maintaining client files, meeting with clients, etc. Bachelor s Degree or a Paralegal Certificate preferred. Should have 3+ years of employment law experience. Must have strong administrative skills and attention to detail. Working knowledge of Forms Work Flow is required. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word.
