Family Law Attorney The candidate will analyze and interpret laws, rulings, and regulations with probable case outcomes for individuals and businesses. Will interact and advise clients in business transactions, claim liability, advisability of prosecuting or defending lawsuits or legal rights and obligations. Build and maintain strong client relationships by working closely with clients to manage a case from beginning to end. Research and analyze the law on complex issues and write briefs for submission to a supervising attorney in the firm. Provide supervising attorney with weekly updates on cases and status. Analyze and summarize complicated legal documents, including contracts, and suggest alterations to those documents. Perform discovery of various electronically stored data and hard copies of information in preparation for litigation. Perform due diligence in all legal matters assigned. Prepare pleadings, motions, briefs and conference notes in a timely manner. Gather evidence to formulate defense or to initiate legal actions. Evaluate findings and develop strategies and arguments for presentation of cases. Represent clients in court or before government agencies, present and summarize cases to judges and juries. Attend all pretrial hearings on behalf of clients and advise clients following each hearing about the best strategies. Stay informed about current legislation, especially concerning legal concentration. Attend hearings, conferences, meditations and trials. Select jurors, argue motions, meet with judges, and question witnesses during the course of a trial. Complete any and all other duties as assigned by supervising attorney and/or office manager. Communicate with clients on a timely and professional basis. Uphold the values of the company and conduct oneself in an orderly fashion so as not to impune the reputation of the company. Should preferably have 1 year of experience and State Bar of Texas admission.
