Paralegal - 1st Party Property Damage The candidate will assist them with ongoing cases and prepare them for trial if needed. In addition, they conduct fact-finding projects and are responsible for maintaining all case files. Maintain attorney's calendar. Schedule depositions, pre-depositions, meetings, meditations, hearings. Document management using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe and SmartAdvocate. E-file legal documents in Florida's E-Portal System. Assist attorneys in preparing for depositions, hearings, trials, and conferences. Draft legal court documents, such as pleadings, motions, affidavits, discovery demands/responses and subpoenas. Send out correspondence to parties/non-parties via email, regular mail, or certified mail. Communicate with clients. Set up Court Call or Zoom for hearings. Prepare Trial Notebooks and Exhibit Lists. Retain Experts for Trial. Attend internal pre-trial meetings and final trial meetings with the attorneys trying the case to ensure all discovery is completed, trial deadlines are met, preparation of trial exhibits and deposition summaries, and other matters relating to trial preparation. Complete trial logistic tasks. Perform other related duties as assigned. Should have 2+ years of litigation experience. Experience with the discovery process is required. Experience e-filing in both state and federal courts is a plus.
