Paralegal - Personal Injury Defense The candidate provides support to attorneys by monitoring case status and completing required actions and assignments. Draft legal documents, perform research, ensure that documents are timely filed with courts, review, analyze and summarize documents and information, including medical records, and communicate with clients, insurance claims professionals, court personnel and opposing counsel and their support staff. Represent the Firm by supporting attorneys and providing outstanding customer service and accurate follow-through actions for all inquiries and referrals. Reviews and analyzes information provided by clients, client representatives, other parties and their counsel, and medical providers, including medical records. Researches, compiles, reviews, reconciles, and/or maintains a variety of information and records. Inputs information regarding parties, case status and assigned tasks into case management software. Monitors and assists with maintenance of case calendar by scheduling matter events, coordinating with counsel, and generating status reports to keep attorneys updated with matter status. Answers questions and supplies detailed information both in person and on the phone. Drafts, reviews and edits legal documents and correspondence. Assists attorneys with preparation for and during trials, arbitrations, administrative hearings, etc. Prepare key document and issue binders. Organize, assemble, mark and maintain documents. Receives and processes a variety of requests for information, registrations, actions, forms, orders, notices, and/or other related information. Follows through on client needs through coordination of services. Assists with engagement and consultation with expert witnesses. Performs a variety of routine clerical activities and other duties as assigned. Must have Associate s degree in a related field (such as legal assisting, law enforcement, or human services). Should have 5+ years of related experience. Prior experience in Pennsylvania state courts (in addition to New York courts) is preferred. Must have proficiency in all Microsoft Office products (including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and in using web-based applications.
