Real Estate Paralegal The candidate will report to the Director of E-Discovery and Paralegal Services. Will work directly with Attorneys in the Real Estate Finance and Banking Practice Group in supporting the representation of real estate developers, owners, tenants, investors and lenders in transactional matters. Prepare, revise and file various documents, certificates, statements, amendments and forms. Perform UCC and other searches. Prepare and track closing checklists and transaction documentation from letter of intent through completion of closing binders. Review and summarize title commitments, exception documents, and surveys. Assist with preparation of title objection letters, legal invoices, and obtaining proforma policies. Obtain deed and mortgage documentation. Assist with review of closing statements. Review diligence materials. The candidate should preferably have a Bachelor's degree with ABA paralegal certification or Associates's/Bachelor's degree in Paralegal studies. Must be an experienced paralegal in the Real Estate Finance and Banking Practice Group. Previous experience in real estate, real estate development or other transactional work is required. Must possess two of the following three criteria: (1) Bachelor's Degree; (2) Board Certified Paralegal through the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, a Certified Legal Assistant or Certified Paralegal through the National Association of Legal Assistants, or a Registered Paralegal through National Federation of Paralegal Associations; or (3) five years of paralegal experience in a law firm or corporate legal department. Must have knowledge and understanding of legal principles and practices. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Word is essential. Knowledge of NetDocs document management platform helpful. Should be a highly organized, self-motivated individual who possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills and enjoys a fast-paced and team-oriented working environment. Must have the ability to convey information to individuals at all levels within the firm in a courteous and professional manner; strong service orientation. Should have excellent organizational skills, including the ability to work concurrently on a variety of projects with changing priorities. Must have the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with appropriate discretion. Should have strong problem-solving skills; with superior interpersonal skills to ensure effective communication across a diverse group of internal and external clients, attorneys, and staff while maintaining a high level of work quality and customer service.
