Litigation Paralegal Responsibilities: Meet with potential clients and current clients. Update and communicate with clients on the status of their case. Create and manage case files for high value presuit matters and all litigation matters. Maintain case documents and information on Filevine case management. Draft and/or proofread correspondence and various legal documents. Communicate with insurance adjusters, medical providers, and other lawyers. Request and review client medical records and billings. Gather evidence and documentation to build case files. File pleadings in both State and Federal Court. Draft and answer discovery. Prepare subpoenas and assist in the scheduling of witnesses. Schedule and calendar depositions, mediations, hearings, court deadlines, and other appointments/meetings. Assist the Attorney(s) and other team members with deposition, mediation, and trial preparation. Facilitate the meeting of all deadlines by keeping organized schedules and providing timely reminders. Conduct legal research on case law using Westlaw and other appropriate law and/or medical libraries, databases, and on-line facilities. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree and/or Paralegal Certificate is preferred. 3+ consecutive years of recent litigation paralegal work experience is required. Superior knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and a Legal Case Manager System. Excellent writing and communication skills. Bilingual English/Spanish speaking candidates are preferred but not required. A strong interest in community involvement is also preferred.
