Family Law Paralegal Duties: Coordinate case initiation process including setting up initial client physical and/or electronic file. Catalog, organize, scan, and maintain client documents in paper and/or electronic filing system. Catalog and organize client financial information and other case relevant information for attorney review using internal processes and CFLR applications such as DissoMaster, Propertizer, and Executioner. Create and maintain case/client dossier with basic facts and issues of existing cases. Manage, coordinate, and maintain calendar concerning case deadlines and attorney court hearings. Communicate with clients and perform client intake procedures to receive and organize facts and issues concerning each case. Draft basic judicial council forms (petition, response, schedule of assets and debts, income and expense declaration, UCCJEA, child custody forms, etc.) and basic legal pleadings. Coordinate with attorney and clients to assist with the preparation of discovery responses. Coordinate law office activity, including the service of legal documents and execution of proofs of service. Coordinate and arrange for the filing of pleadings with the court through attorney filing service and/or electronic filing system. Use case management software to track client expenses, billing, and time. Contact and communicate with court clerk as necessary. Clerical and administrative duties as necessary - including copying, scanning, and assembling documents for service and filing with the court. Requirements: 1-2 years of family law experience is preferable. Experience with Microsoft Office and excellent formatting skills. Must be bilingual (English-Korean). Excellent communication skills. Ability to work independently using strong critical thinking skills and exhibiting sound decision- making capabilities. Professional demeanor and excellent customer service skills. Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills. Attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
