Paralegal - Bankruptcy - Corporate The candidate will handle all facets of the bankruptcy cases including client contact, due diligence and attorney support. Assist with the drafting and reviewing of legal documents. Perform full range of paralegal tasks for Chapter 11 bankruptcy matters from case inception through case closure. Maintain, monitor, and calendar all court related events and deadlines for assigned cases. Prepare drafts of notices, motions, including organization of exhibits. Prepare deposition notices; organize, maintain and prepare deposition materials, hearing binders, exhibits and summaries. Remain current in industry trends in Bankruptcy/Restructuring and the legal profession. Participate in case strategy meetings. Proactively use most current technology to further teamwork, client service, and efficiency. Electronically file documents in federal and state courts. Maintain internal docket database. Paralegal Certificate or Associate's Degree is required. Should have 3-5 years of federal litigation or bankruptcy. Experience with with corporate debtor representations is preferred. Should have the ability to prioritize and multitask. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. Should be deadline and detail-oriented. Knowledge and experience with complex Federal court filings and docketing is needed. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, PACER and Westlaw. Working knowledge of time management platforms, Clio experience is preferred. Should be proficient in all of the core legal support functions. Should have advanced technical and communications skills. Should have the ability to work in a fast paced environment while effectively coordinating completion of multiple tasks. Superb attention to detail, grammar, and punctuation, and the ability to articulate thoughts and effectively present new ideas and findings. Working knowledge of F.R.C.P is needed. Should be proficient in all aspects of the Discovery process, including preparation of deposition notices; scheduling, creating and maintaining notebooks etc. Working knowledge of document management systems are essential.
