We represent innovation-driven clients; from Fortune 500 and small-cap emerging companies to start-ups and entrepreneurs, investors, academic institutions and government-related entities. SUMMARY: We are looking for a Patent Paralegal with at least 3 years of experience for our STEM (technology, medical and telecom) Practice Group within the New York office. The Patent Paralegal will support attorneys in their practice by assisting with patent prosecution and gathering, analyzing, and organizing information. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Work collaboratively with assigned attorneys and support staff in preparing legal documents Manage dockets and complete United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) forms Draft and file patent documents with the USPTO. Docket filings and maintain several attorney dockets for the U.S and abroad Handle patent formalities: filing information disclosure statements Correspond with clients and foreign associates Handle other administrative tasks as needed, e.g., absorbing new client dockets, transfers, etc. Draft, proofread, and file legal documents in compliance with applicable Federal and Local Rules via court electronic filing systems Manage, organize, and maintain files for multiple on-going cases Demonstrate a high level of professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive materials Track, calendar and maintain case/application deadlines QUALIFICATIONS: Preferably possess 3 or more years of patent paralegal experience Bachelors degree (B.A.) in related field or equivalent preferred with a minimum GPA of 3.0 Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills with ability to manage priorities and workflow Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels Demonstrated ability to plan and organize projects Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel Preferred but not required: experience with Outlook, SAP, and iManage Preferred but not required: ABA approved Paralegal certificate FIRM OFFERS: Competitive Salary Medical, Dental, and Vision Health Savings Account Flexible Spending Account: Health Care, Dependent Care, and Transit Life Insurance 401K Generous Time Off Plan Professional Development Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $25.00 per hour Benefits: 401(k) Dental insurance Employee assistance program Employee discount Flexible schedule Flexible spending account Health insurance Health savings account Life insurance Paid time off Parental leave Professional development assistance Referral program Tuition reimbursement Vision insurance Schedule: Monday to Friday Application Question(s): What are your salary requirements?
