Senior Paralegal Duties: Assists attorneys with their responsibilities and assignments in connection with the representations of Firm clients by handling day-to-day case management. Day-to-day case/transaction and database management; reviews, drafts, and prepares legal documents; conducts due diligence and research; Exhibits technical skills consistent with new and existing Firm technology; Proficient with respect to filing procedures and filing jurisdictions, including e-filing; Assists with training and mentoring of less experienced paralegals; Conducts docket research, obtains pleadings and orders from various jurisdictions; monitors dockets and distributes updates as requested; Coordinates and assists attorneys in reviewing of documents and materials for privilege and responsiveness; oversees document numbering and labeling; tracks numbering gaps, maintains complete sets of production/privilege documents, and drafts privilege logs; Assists with preparation of briefs and exhibits: reviews briefs for grammatical correctness; create Table of Authorities, cite checks, Shepardizes, Blue Books, and checks quotes for accuracy; Assists with discovery phase; draft and serve subpoenas, schedule depositions, assemble, Bates number and manage document productions; Assists attorneys with hearing preparation, client meetings, mediations, arbitrations, fact and expert witness deposition preparation; and expert reports preparation; Prepares for trials, mediations, hearings, and arbitrations: organizes and prepares files, notebooks, presentation materials and trial aids. Provides courtroom support; handles exhibits, gathers documents referred to by either counsel, tracks exhibit usage; interacts with witnesses and clients; Assists with trial logistics: hotel space, catering requirements, supplies, copiers, transportation, set-up and break-down of trial war room; Provides overflow assistance to peers/team members within department to further enhance departmental operations; and promotes a positive work and team environment; provides assistance to other practice groups; Maintains time records ensuring accurate and timely release of InTapp entries; Assumes other duties and/or assists with special projects as requested by the Director of Office Administration; Completes and submits electronic and signed weekly timesheets and PTO requests to manager in a timely manner; Develops and maintains excellent customer service relationships with clients, attorneys, vendors, and administrative staff; Adheres to Firm policies and procedures and supports Firm s initiatives; Attends training classes and completes annual training recommendations for skills enhancement; Observes confidentiality of all Firm matters. Qualifications: College degree, paralegal certificate from an ABA accredited program, or comparable work experience, preferably in a law firm; 5+ years paralegal experience preferred; Displays expertise in areas of essential functions; understands and applies current information, technology, and resources necessary to best achieve work results; Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously; Exhibits strong leadership skills; Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously; Ability to work well under pressure and with constant interruptions; Exhibits excellent interpersonal skills in communications in person, by e-mail and telephone and provides information with courtesy and tact; follows instructions effectively from a diverse group of clients, attorneys and staff; Ability to handle high-pressured situations in a courteous and professional manner; Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints.
