Handbook Compliance Professional / Knowledge Management Paralegal The candidate will assist with research, preparation, drafting, and customizing company employee handbooks and other policies and procedures on a 50-state level, using a combination of templates, forms, and proprietary firm tools. Perform additional roles at the direction of the firm's KM Department, including maintenance of various KM tools and client-facing subscriptions, assisting with maintenance of firm exemplars, and assisting in populating various KM databases. The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree. Must have 3-5 years of related experience in a Human Resources role, or as a labor and employment paralegal. A thorough understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws governing the workplace throughout the United States is required. Experience in writing and administering multi-state handbook policies and working with in-house counsel or outside legal counsel on compliance is a must. Proficiency in conducting research for state, federal, and local employment laws, including legislation tracking and analysis is essential. Proficiency in MS Office, MS Word, Adobe, Excel, and SharePoint; ability to quickly learn new and developing software and tools is necessary. The ability to synthesize and distill large volumes of information into policy form is necessary. Must have excellent spelling, grammar, and written communication skills; ability to take direction (verbal and written) and timely execute on those directives; proficiency in establishing priorities, managing multiple simultaneous projects, and meeting deadlines.
