Paralegal / Office Manager Duties: Provide legal and administrative staff support to attorney team in all phases of litigation and general counsel representation for firm's core practice areas (Litigation, Contractual, Real Estate, General Business, Construction Defect). Assist team in growing the firm as a legal service resource for clients and the communities in which it practices. Assist firm with administrative organization tasks: managing day-to-day schedules, personnel needs and support. Assist attorney team in organizing, managing and executing daily case workflow and processes as needed. Clear and respectful communication with firm co-workers, clients, opposing counsel and vendors. Prompt and competent execution of daily case and project events and task lists; anticipate needs for same. Utilize thorough understanding of state and local court rules, guidelines. Legal research, including check citations. Draft, review and revise correspondence, documents and pleadings as needed. Proofreading of all generated and filed or recorded documents. Qualifications: Associate's degree OR 2 - 4 years job experience in legal services, communications/writing or other similar fields. 2-4 years of supervisory experience. Experience with all aspects of latest Microsoft products. Typing speed of 50+ wpm -- the higher, the better. Skilled in time/billing software and legal industry databases. Excellent writing, verbal, creative and organizational skills. Preferred: Experience working in law firm, dealing with deadlines and billable requirements. Knowledge of court rules, guidelines and local courts. Experience with legal case management programs.
