Nurse Paralegal The candidate primarily supports attorneys with medical- related litigation with an emphasis on insurance defense. Will support legal team by requesting, analyzing and summarizing medical records. Conduct medical journal research. Abstract medical records, organize and prepare both outline and narrative summaries of the records for internal use and for presentation to the client. Analyze medical records and billings to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the medical evidence. Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing is required. Paralegal certification is a plus. Must have 1-5 years of experience in clinical practice. Experience in a law firm or legal department is a plus. Should have a proficient understanding and utilization of medical terminology, anatomical drawings, laboratory tests, and medications. Must have full understanding HIPPA compliance.
