Paralegal - Litigation The candidate will be drafting Complaints and Motions (99% of our lawsuits are template/boilerplate requiring nominal pre-filing modifications.). Will be properly filling out and filing Michigan SCAO forms. Knowing the filing-fees (or at least knowing where to go to find fee schedules). Properly filling out & filing Summons and Complaints. Properly filling out & filing Praecipes. Properly filling out and filing Requests for Default Judgements. Properly filling out and filing Motions. Properly filling out and filing Garnishments. Serving Defendants (not personally, but knowing how-to, when-to, where-to, etc.). Properly filling out and filing Proofs of Service. Associate's degree, or work-experience equivalent is needed. Should have 3-5 years of experience in Michigan Civil Litigation. Experience in debt collection litigation is preferred. Strong written and oral communication skills; (ZERO tolerance for spelling errors and bad grammar.) is needed. Proficient computer and internet experience is essential. Proficient copier and scanner experience is needed. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suites (Word and Excel) is essential.
