Legal Secretary Duties: Calendar all dates as instructed by the attorney and as included in firm calendaring policy, including complex activities such as due dates for filing of court documents, meetings with opposing counsel and other attorney appearances. Organize documents and files in the computer. Keep track of upcoming SOLs and other filing due dates. Handle court filings notices, document productions, CMC statements, arbitration demands, requests for dismissal, etc. Prepare mediation and trial binders. Process check requests and send them to the appropriate parties. Prepare FedEx, UPS and mailings. Act as liaison with other departments, opposing counsel and in some instance the court or arbitrator with the instruction of the attorney. Prepare reports on Excel and formatting existing documents. Qualifications: Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Calendaring. Document Management. Interpersonal Skills. Writing Skills. Organizational Skills. Attention to Detail. Teamwork. Multi-Tasking-juggle multiple assignments and competing priorities. Research Skills- perform internet research for multitude of tasks such as finding directions, gathering client information and locating expert witness.
