Litigation Paralegal The candidate will work primarily with the tax controversy and tax litigation lawyers of the Tax & Employee Benefits Department. Will be relied upon as a subject matter expert in the management of federal and state court filings, case files, discovery, depositions and trial preparation for large litigation cases pending in jurisdictions within and outside of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Assist attorneys with preparing and cite-checking legal documents to include pleadings, briefs, motions, subpoenas, and discovery. Managing and maintaining case files through web based document management system. E-filing large documents in federal and state court. Assist attorneys with discovery phase to include discovery requests, issuing subpoenas, and coordinating/preparing for depositions. Assist attorneys and outside document vendors with large-scale document production and review through various platforms, i.e. Relativity and Concordance. Qualifications: Four year degree preferred, or 1-3 years of relevant work experience. Experience assisting with large case filings preferred. Paralegal Certification from an ABA accredited program preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience and proficiency with document management systems and cloud based data management systems. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, Adobe Acrobat and other legal support software as appropriate.
