Legal Assistant/Legal Secretary Duties: Preparing answers, discovery demands and responses, motions and third party actions. Drafting legal correspondence regarding court and EBT appearances and adjournments. Telephone contact with courts, clerks, clients and opposing counsel's offices. Updating and working within case management system. Scanning. Direct communication with clients (phone calls and emails). Calendar maintenance and scheduling. Assist attorney in preparation of exhibits for administrative hearings, trials and court appearances. File maintenance. Qualifications: Proficient in all Microsoft Office products. Must be knowledgeable of and be responsible for preparing, amending and finalizing all legal defense documents in support of attorneys. Must be well versed in civil litigation documents and/or Special Education law. Experience in either or both of these areas would be advantageous, experience in at least one of these areas is required. Knowledge of special education process is a plus. Knowledge of Spanish preferred.
