CT-Foreclosure Paralegal The candidate will retrieve and acknowledge receipt of Defense referrals. Will review any documentation received from servicer. Research of pending cases in CATER. Request Fee Approval. Discuss preliminary resolution strategy with service(i.e. payoff now, redeem on law day/bid at sale). Request HOA compliance documentation (if applicable) and Request payoff (if paying off pre-judgment). Follow up on outstanding requests to opposing counsel or with servicer. Review HOA Compliance documentation with team attorney for compliance (if applicable). Follow-up on status of payment (if applicable). Obtain/Send Release of Lis Pendens and Withdrawal of Action (if applicable). Send Release of Lis Pendens and Withdrawal of Action to client with conclusion message and close file (if applicable). Monitor for judgment. Discuss post-judgment resolution strategy with servicer (redeem judgment for borrower, redeem on servicer s law day to take title/bid at sale). Request fee approval for recommended title search (if redeeming to take title or bidding at sale). Review of title with team attorney for any potential issues. Consistently and accurately updating the firm s internal case management system, as well as all clients systems. Provide exceptional customer service to clients at every level of interaction. Provide support to attorneys in a high volume, time sensitive atmosphere. Provide regular and timely client status updates, as well as continual follow-up on outstanding documents and or services. Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed. Must have Bachelor s Degree or Paralegal certificate and/or 2-3 years of equivalent work experience in the legal field. Should preferably have experience with client systems such as LPS, Lenstar, Tempo, Vendorscape and others is preferred. Should be able to proficiently operate computer, fax machine, scanner, photocopier and telephone. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be committed to providing exceptional customer service. Ability to communicate courteously and effectively with borrower, clients, attorneys, other internal employees, and outside parties is required. Should have High-level proficiency in MS Office suite. Proficiency in internet research activities is needed. Good understanding of the legal process surrounding foreclosure is preferred.
