Litigation Attorney The candidate should have 1 year of experience to join our dynamic Intellectual Property team. Should have : (i) strong communication and customer service skills; (ii) the ability to multi-task on a variety of assignments while continuing to produce thoughtful, intelligent work product; (iii) the ability to work independently and in a team environment. Attorney applicants must be the Law School graduate and a member of the Virginia Bar. Must have hands-on experience through all phases of civil litigation. Prior experience in litigation a plus. Represent the interests of clients in litigations in state courts, a federal court, or a federal administrative agency. Research case laws and statutes, and prepare a legal memorandum to aid partner attorney s decision making in state and federal court proceedings. Prepare and file trademark applications and responsive papers with the USPTO on behalf of domestic and international clients. Advise international clients on U.S. trademark prosecution, licensing, assignment, and USPTO Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (the TTAB ) proceedings. Prepare and file trial briefs and motion papers in the TTAB for domestic and international clients. Attend in-person business meeting with Korean clients abroad for intellectual property transaction and dispute matters, and advise their executives on U.S. intellectual property laws that are relevant to the matters. Supervise and review paralegals document preparation and law clerk s legal research and writing for partner attorney s review. Communicate with local counsels abroad regarding client s international trademark applications and registrations and deliver the client s instructions regarding maintenance and enforcement of the same. Meet with potential Korean clients regarding formation of limited liability company in Virginia. Should have Bachelor's degree in a related field. Juris Doctor degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school. Admission to the bar in the state in which you intend to practice. Experience or expertise in a specific branch of law may be preferred.
