Paralegal - Commercial Real Estate Responsibilities: Review commitment letters, open files and prepare file folders. Draft loan closing documents, correspondence and memoranda. Save checklist items and curatives to firm's paperless system. Prepare closing packages and closing statements. Proof read documents and ensure accuracy for proper recording. Coordinate updates and returns of abstracts and surveys. Draft purchase and sale agreements, correspondence and memoranda. Maintain closing calendars. Print information from NYS UCC website. Print tax information from website. Enter information in lender's document preparation system and transfer to Word for further amendments. Process State UCC's for filing. Review final title policies, clerk-stamped documents and original recorded documents and process to Lender. Prepare monthly commercial mortgage closing report. Prepare year-end report. Maintain and close out files. Qualifications: Paralegal certificate and/or Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. 3+ years of paralegal experience in commercial real estate transactions. Knowledge of Laserpro system a plus. 1400 annual billable hour requirement. Proficiency with Word and expertise with computer assisted legal resources required. Must be able to effectively communicate orally and in writing with clients, other attorneys and paralegals, both inside and outside the firm. Must be able to effectively multi-task, autonomously manage time sensitive documents and utilize exceptional organizational skills. Must be able to function effectively in a busy, team oriented environment. Must have excellent proofreading skills and attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required. Must exhibit well-developed interpersonal and client relation skills. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills required. Must be able to effectively meet deadlines. Excellent client service and listening skills. Strong analytical skills. Ability to work with diverse personalities within various levels of the organization. Exercises sound independent judgment under minimal direct supervision. Ability to manage time efficiently and work independently as well as coordinate with a team. Military experience welcome.
