Data Privacy and Cybersecurity Attorney The candidate will lead clients in the implementation of data privacy and cybersecurity programs. Advise clients on data privacy and security laws, including CCPA, CPRA, GDPR, HIPAA, GLBA, consumer protection, and similar state laws and regulations. Support clients in responding to cybersecurity incidents and data breaches. Lend subject matter support on mergers and acquisitions, including data privacy and cybersecurity due diligence. Negotiate technology agreements with respect to data privacy, data sharing, and information security. Contribute to the ongoing development and implementation of the team's strategic plan. Participate in new client development and marketing activities, including both internal and external writings and presentations on emergent industry trends and the development of best practices. The candidate should have a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school. Admitted to practice or eligible for admission to practice in the State of Wisconsin. Should have 2+ years of legal experience at a leading law firm or comparable in-house counsel position. Certified Information Privacy Professional Certification (e.g. CIPP/US, CIPP/E, or CIPM). Experience working in cybersecurity, or private industry is a plus. A desire to nerd out on legal issues in data privacy and cybersecurity. Superior organizational and time management skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work flexibly and cooperatively as part of a team, with a desire for contributing to organizational growth and developing preeminent thought leadership. Proven ability to work within a fast-paced team environment. Dedication to contributing to client success in a collaborative team environment.
