Bankruptcy Paralegal The candidate will responsible for ensuring strict adherence to client deadlines and accurate client/internal systems utilization. Demonstrates the ability to maintain professional communication with Courts, clients and attorneys via phone interaction, client systems, and e-mail, as this is an integral part of position.Values self-motivation and reliability. Possess a keen working knowledge of real estate bankruptcy processes from initial filing to termination are required. Have the ability to confidently analyze mortgage servicing documents, understand servicer pay histories and navigate client systems with little to no oversight. Review and interpret all documents (legal and otherwise) including recorded deed of trusts, notes, bankruptcy plans and schedules are essential. Ensure that all required bankruptcy documents, including but not limited to Form 410A, are prepared accurately for attorney review, and in turn, upon approval, filed timely and accurately. Review court docket and case information via electronic case monitoring to promptly determine when attorney action and/or client notification is required. Stay up to date on any client and/or legally required changes within the Bankruptcy process. Accurately update and maintain our internal case management system as well as the client systems. Contact and perform timely follow up with attorneys and bankruptcy trustees, for conferences, hearings, orders. Respond to written and verbal inquiries in a timely and professional manner. Demonstrated understanding of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code that includes Chapter 7 & Chapter 13 provisions are required. Demonstrated ability to interpret pre and post-petition payment histories are required. Extensive understanding of the processes surrounding Motion for Relief are required. Experience with various mortgage default industry platforms: LPS/Black Knight Desktop, MSP, Tempo, VendorScape are required. Proficient with PC and related software such as Excel and Word are required. Effective organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills are required. Ability to manage priorities and workflow in a high-volume production environment are required. Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to communicate at all levels are required. Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities are required. Ability to work well in a team environment or individually are required.
