Mid-Level Attorney The candidate must have prior experience with production counsel legal work on long-form motion pictures or scripted television series, and expertise negotiating and drafting production agreements. BAI will also look to this person to work on development, financing, and distribution deals--the new member of the team can look forward to learning and handling negotiations and agreements in all areas, and will not find themselves siloed in any one area of the practice. Admitted to practice law in California. 3 years minimum transactional entertainment work, in-house or at a law firm. Draft and negotiate distribution agreements, security agreements, licensing agreements, talent agreements, and releases. Review legal documentation for rights, obligations, and clearance issues for media distribution and marketing in coordination with distributors and producers. Troubleshoot issues with our distribution services affiliate, IndieWorks, LLC and assist with curing defective delivery items as necessary. Ability to hit the ground running and willingness to tackle projects that may be unfamiliar, with the support and guidance of more experienced colleagues. Experience interfacing directly with clients and negotiating with opposing counsel. Ability to cultivate strong relationships with BAI's existing clients and develop new clients. Creative, analytic thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
