This firm is often at the top of the list of prominent Boston law firms. Large and growing, these lawyers are well-connected throughout the Boston area, and are looking to increase the reach of their influence. With beautiful offices (that seem to go on and on...) the lawyers here are generally quite happy with their practice. Why? At the associate level, lawyers are given a bit more responsibility than your average law firm lawyer, and depending on the practice group, given quite solid training and structured mentoring. Although the partners are increasingly conscious of the billable hours of their associates, they are generally accessible. In particular, several of the litigation partners bring in high level litigation work and remain very involved throughout to monitor and guide the associates participation.
Senior Paralegal - Trademark Prosecution The candidate will conduct trademark searches using USPTO, CT Corsearch, internet and foreign databases. Prepare and filing of Trademark Applications at USPTO and WIPO Preparation and filing of non-substantive Office action responses. Prepare and filing of Section 8 & 15 Declarations of Use, Section 8 & 9 Renewals, Statements of Use/Extensions of Time, Powers of Attorney, Assignment Recordation. Change of Correspondence Address Experience with TTAB filings Preparation and filing of copyright applications and assignments with the Library of Congress. Communicate with foreign associates for trademark filings, renewals and Office Action responses, maintenance and general questions. Prepare of correspondences to clients reporting notices received from the Trademark Offices and foreign associates. Attend to notarization and legalization of power of attorney and assignment documents for foreign associates. Order certified copies of priority documents Review weekly watch notices. Attention to file intake Managing US and foreign trademark dockets using CPI docketing database. Strong working knowledge of domestic and international trademark prosecution, including the USPTO rules and regulations required. BA/BS preferred. 3-5 years of experience required. Paralegal Certificate or qualifying work experience required. Knowledge of CPI a plus.
