Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal Duties: Manage Clients and Organize Cases. Maintain consistent communication with clients and guide them through each step of the litigation process. Obtain medical records and bills and update ethos. Catalogue client's injury/event/employment history/timeline. Calendar all deadlines and hearings. E-file/Service all pleadings and documents. Draft stipulations, orders, notices etc. File and Serve Complaints. File petitions to exempt. Discovery. Draft initial disclosures and supplements. Coordinate depositions, IMEs, and insurance company questions. Draft and circulate JCCR. Draft and serve written discovery requests and responses. Prepare clients for depositions, interrogatories, IMEs, discovery requests. Retain experts & prepare expert materials. Alternative Dispute Resolution. Coordinate mediations, arbitrations, settlement conferences, etc. Prepare and guide clients through mediation, arbitration, settlement conference, etc. Prepare briefs for attorneys to finalize. File arbitration selection lists. Draft motion for fees, costs and interest. Trial. Draft pre-trial disclosures. Draft and circulate joint pre-trial memo. Prepare trial list. Prepare trial brief for attorney to finalize. Prepare client for hearings and trial. Settlement. Prepare client letter regarding award and trial de novo. Draft and receive offers of judgment and obtain client signatures. Review financials with client. Request balance breakdowns, negotiate reductions, and pay providers. Disburse case funds. Manage minor compromises. Qualifications: Experience using case management software. High school degree and work experience demonstrating an ability to manage multiple tasks through to completion with minimal supervision. Strong filing, organizational skills with high attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills A" Ability to explain complex issues with confidence. Spanish fluency required. Able to work effectively with people from various backgrounds. Familiar with Excel and Word.
