Junior Immigration Paralegal Responsibilities: Reporting to the Senior Immigration Paralegal and the Managing Attorney. Collaborating with the Senior immigration Paralegal and the Managing Attorney. Managing we the caseload from intake through processing and filing. Preparing applications for nonimmigrant visas, permanent residency and secondary benefits for foreign nationals. Processing and filing nonimmigrant and immigrant visa petitions. Organizing petition packets for review and filing. Drafting letters and other communications for review by the Managing Attorney. Gathering application and petition information from external parties. Keeping clients apprised of the progress of their cases. Follow up with case status after cases have been submitted with USCIS. Maintaining hard copy and electronic copies of files and entering data into an immigration case management system. Responding to immigration inquiries in a timely manner and adhering to submission deadlines. Scheduling interviews and appointments for clients at U.S. Consulates. Occasional administrative duties such as, answering phones, filing, scanning, and scheduling appointments for existing clients with the Managing Attorney. Requirements: Must be bilingual English/Spanish (required). Bachelor's Degree or post-secondary program with law-related coursework (preferred). State-approved accredited paralegal certification (preferred). 1-2 years of immigration law-related work experience under the supervision of a licensed attorney (required). Ability to collaborate with immigration attorneys and other paralegals, as well as support staff (required). Extensive knowledge of visa, permanent residency, and secondary benefit applications (required). Experience in preparing petition packages for review and filling (required). Ability to manage immigration inquiries, gather required information, and keep clients informed of progress (required). Proficiency in legal terminology and immigration database software, such as eIMMIGRATION (preferred). Exceptional recordkeeping and communication skills (required).
