Paralegal/Legal Assistant The candidate will be providing legal/secretarial/clerical support to attorneys by conducting legal research, scheduling depositions, preparing drafts of discovery demands and responses, preparing judgment packets, preparing for trial, preparing demand letters and corresponding with counsel and clients. Will also responsible for handling pre-suit auto subrogation cases nationwide. Work closely with a Hearing Representative before the California Workers Compensation Appeals Board, state-wide, representing health care service plan lien claimants in all phases of lien reimbursement administrative proceedings, including pleadings, discovery and adjudication, from inception, and possibly through trial. The candidate should have an Associates Degree in Paralegal Studies or certification. Must have previous law office or corporate legal department experience. Strong communication skills is a must. A possession of knowledge of both Federal and State Court civil procedure, mediation preparation and medical records summary is a strong plus. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office. Knowledge of document and case management, timekeeping software, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Share File and PACER is a plus.
