Associate Attorney Duties: Trial preparation, including strategy discussion, discovery, records review, client interviews and witness preparation. Research, both legal and factual investigation. Drafting of briefs, memos, and client updates. Attendance at depositions, hearings, and mediations. Closely collaborating with national counsel teams and especially attorneys. Requirements: Actively licensed and in good standing in Illinois, Michigan license also preferred. Previous litigation experience required, including deposition and courtroom experience. Participation in law review and/or moot court are a plus. Excellent academic credentials and strong writing, analytical, and communications skills. A writing sample is required when applying. Ability to thrive in a high-paced environment, requiring exceptional organizational skills, juggling priorities, and adhering to strict deadlines. Must be a self-starter who can handle multiple projects with competing demands and understand the importance of deadlines. Client-focused mentality. Takes initiatives and welcomes challenges. Ability to work flexibly and independently within a strong team. Pays attention to detail. Technologically savvy, with experience in Microsoft Office, Excel. Intellectually curious, keeping current on litigation trends and recent legal opinions.
