Defense Litigation Legal Secretary The candidate will prepare legal filings: format documents, pull exhibits, proofread and redact documents. Will prepare court forms such as summons and subpoenas. Serve in E-file court filings, open new matters. Document management and organization, saving to network, indexing for file room. Become familiar with court rules and filing procedures. Retrieve court decisions from Westlaw. Prepare cover letters for attorney bills. Input billing information into billing software. Schedule conferences and depositions, maintain attorney calendars. Manage bills for third party vendors, process check requests and follow up with accounting. The candidate must have 4+ years of experience in a law firm or legal department setting. Must have prior experience with litigation processes and experience with calendaring; e filing experience is helpful. Familiarity with State and Federal court procedures and rules essential. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to integrate into a fast-paced environment needed. Excellent typing skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) essential. Strong written and verbal communication skills needed.
