Legal Secretary (Insurance Defense) The candidate will create and edit documents in Word, Excel and other applications from handwritten copy, typed copy and dictation. Prepare and serve pleadings and discovery (including e-filings). Prepare proofs of service, Table of Contents, Table of Authorities. Prepare correspondence as directed by attorneys or other assignments. Administer multiple calendars; schedule and confirm appearances. Coordinate depositions and expert assignments. Able to perform other secretarial tasks as assigned. Should have 5 years of litigation legal secretary experience; knowledge of local, state and federal court rules and civil procedures. Must have strong litigation and trial support skills; firm actively tries personal injury defense cases with emphasis on large catastrophic losses and insurance bad faith. Should have superior technical skills in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook, in addition to CompuLaw, Adobe and Legal Master.
