Legal Secretary The candidate will join Commercial and Civil Litigation Division. Will provide many facets such as maintaining paper and electronic files, preparing general correspondence, communication with the court, calendaring, and preparing notebooks for depositions, hearings, mediation, and trial. Organize and maintain paper and electronic client files for the Litigation Department. Manage the calendar and dockets for all litigation attorneys as requested. Provides photocopying and/or scanning of correspondence, documents and other printed materials. Handles incoming correspondence, as well as outgoing correspondence, including mail, emails to clients, faxes, hand deliveries, FedEx s, etc. Answers telephone and delivers accurate and timely messages. Runs conflict checks, opens new matters and revises existing matters as needed. Draft general correspondence to clients, opposing counsel and the Courts. Schedule appointments and conference calls for the litigation attorneys as requested. Input information into file database and case management software as requested. Organize materials for team case review as requested. Monitor litigation attorney calendars. Provide word processing and administrative support as requested. Execute other secretarial tasks and assignments as requested by a Managing Partner or Partner. Should have 2+ years of law firm experience. Must have fundamental knowledge of general legal terminology.
