This large international New York law firm founded in 1934 has established a full-service presence. Clients include large corporations and individuals as well as small and medium-sized businesses. The firm represents a wide range of industrial, financial and commercial enterprises, both publicly and privately held. Firm lawyers represent clients in every state as well as numerous foreign jurisdictions. The firm is organized by legal specialization: corporate, e-commerce, employee benefits, estate planning, government and regulatory affairs, health law, intellectual property, international, litigation and tax. Legal Secretary / Regulatory Practice Group The candidate will work in international law firm. Will represent commercial, industrial and financial enterprises both publicly and privately held. Edit, proofread, and redline documents and correspondence for accuracy, grammar, and formatting. File with State and Federal Courts (including e-filing). Maintain case documents in various electronic databases. Organize and maintain paper and electronic files in accordance with Firm records retention policies. Maintain dockets for each attorney and send reminders as necessary. Maintain pleading files. Process the intake of new clients, create client files, search and print reports. Organize and maintain attorney contacts and calendars, including travel logistics and scheduling. Answer incoming telephone calls and relay messages. Coordinate meeting logistics, including scheduling, arranging video conferences, conferences calls, and conference rooms. Assist with the preparation of client bills and related forms and arrange for expense advancement, reimbursement, and invoice payments. Input, review, edit, and update attorney time entries and print reports. The candidate should preferably have Bachelor's Degree. Should have knowledge regarding discovery procedures and deadlines. Must be proficient with document and case management software. Experience with Adobe Acrobat to include redacting, metadata removal, rapid bates labeling, compiling exhibit packets is needed. Must be proficient in state and federal court electronic filing. Must have 3+ years of related work experience. Should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word). Knowledge of General Ledger (GL) expense coding practices is required. Should have strong written and verbal communication skills.
