Litigation Paralegal Duties: Drafting, including discovery demands, responses, pleadings, etc. for review by attorneys. Trail preparation, including subpoenas, Binders, etc. E-filing documents in both state and federal courts Calendaring, via Microsoft Outlook, including hearings statutory deadlines and court ordered deadline. Will also be responsible for booking meetings, depositions, etc. Might need to perform basic legal research Will need to proofread briefs, pleadings and correspondence Will be responsible for service of pleadings and other documents and preparing affidavits of service Will need to prepare exhibits and other documents for deposition and trial Will need to feel comfortable interacting with courts and clerks offices Will need to feel comfortable conversing with clients and other professionals. Work principally in litigation matters in New York State and Federal courts, as well as in litigation involving other jurisdictions and arbitration. Work with attorneys on cases from inception through trial/arbitration. Qualifications: 5+ years of experience assisting in all aspects of litigation. Strong organizational skills and is detail-oriented, while simultaneously, managing multiple case files. Learn quickly, meet deadlines, accomplish tasks in an efficient manner, and exercise resourcefulness in projects.
